Upstairs, Ikki starts at the sound of the doorbell. **Who can that be?** He heads for the apartment's door, pausing to slip his shoes back on.
Just then, the doorbell rings again. "Chotto...just a minute, please!" he calls as he makes his way down the stairs.
When he opens the door and sees who it is, a mixture of emotions plays across his face - shock, and then a not-quite-concealed antipathy. "[Fujiwara-kun...what a surprise.]" **What in the name of the Thousand Hells is he doing here?**
Kyoichi Fujiwara regards Ikki with a slightly hooded gaze. "[Ohtori-kun. It is good to see you again.]" His smile doesn't quite reach his eyes, and his demeanor is somewhat at odds with the pleasantries coming out of his mouth.
Footsteps are heard coming down the stairs behind Ikki. "If that's the pizza guy, I've got the money for him!" calls Aaron. Reaching the bottom of the stairs he trots over to stand by Ikki. "Oops, sorry," he says to Ikki. "I didn't realize it was a friend of yours."
**A friend? You don't know how wrong you are, Aaron-kun,** Ikki thinks. Out loud, he says, "Aaron-san, this is Kyoichi Fujiwara. We went to high school together." He seems to be biting off each word. "[Fujiwara-kun, this is Aaron Frost, a friend of ours.]"
Aaron catches that there is something going on. He gives Ikki a quik puzzled look and bows as politely as he knows how to the stranger. Ikki does not seem happy to see this person, but maybe it's someone important, so I should not do anything to make Ikki look bad, thinks Aaron.
Kyoichi turns to look at Aaron, giving the younger man a slight nod. "Hello," he says in accented English.
There's something disquieting about him, a not-quite-definable sense of menace...almost like having a large, hungry predator in the same room.
Aaron surpresses an urge to shudder. "Um, if you gentlemen don't need me... I'll just go tell Shun the pizza's not here yet." Aaron backs up toward the stairs.
Ikki looks after Aaron with an unreadble expression on his face before turning back to Kyoichi with a barely-concealed snarl. "[You didn't have to do that,]" he growls in rapid-fire Japanese.
Kyoichi looks unconcerned. "[Better to talk without other ears around,]" he says. "[Less chance of our secrets getting out.]" Pause. "[You wouldn't want that, would you?]"
Shortly after Aaron disapears back up the stairs, Shun comes down them. "[Niisan, what is going on,]" asks Shun as he comes toward Ikki.
As he's facing the stairs, Kyoichi spots Shun before Ikki does. "[Good afternoon, Ohtori-kohai. It's been a while.]" Again, the tight smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. "[You look well. It seems America agrees with you.]"
Shun does not smile, but he makes an effor to retain a non-hostile expression. "[Thank you, Kyoichi-sempai. I see you are as polite as ever.]"
Kyoichi nods, apparently either oblivious to Shun's remark or willing to let things slide for now. "[The Court has sent me here on an important mission - we must talk.]" He pauses, looking meaningfully at the stairs Aaron went up. "[Alone.]"
"[Later,]" Ikki replies. "[After all, we have a guest. It would be impolite to just ask him to leave.]"
Shun waits for Kyoichi's response, hoping he'll go away before the cute pizza guy arrives.
Kyoichi looks as if he's swallowed something bad-tasting, but he does acquiesce. "[Very well.]" He hands Ikki a business card. "[My cellular number is on that, and I've also included the number of my hotel on the back.]" Pause. "[You will call once you no longer have guests, ne?]" His tone indicates that he fully expects Ikki to answer in the affirmative.
Ikki nods, secretly hoping that will satisfy Kyoichi enough to get him to leave.
Kyoichi gives the Ohtori brothers a stiff bow. "[Until later, then.]"
He strides off toward the other end of the street.
Shun gives his brother a smile, then calls up the stairs, "Aaron, creepy guy is gone and the pizza guy is pulling up!"
